Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu aka “The Gentle Art” is a martial art and combat sport that utilizes ground fighting to positionally control an opponent in order to submit them. A submission is when your opponent taps out conceding the match is over. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is based off of Judo brought over by Mitsuyo Maeda in the early 1900’s. Maeda would be introduced to the Gracie family. He taught Carlos and Helio Gracie a combination of Japanese Ju Jitsu and Judo. The Gracies were not big in stature so they weren’t able to Judo throw people easily. They started a system where they can get the person to commit to wrestle on the ground. They developed what is known as the guard game. Judo is known for their high impact throws and has more limited ground fighting. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu focuses more on ground fighting.

Here at Enforcers BJJ, you will learn how to understand the concepts on grapple with a purpose. You will learn the skills necessary to be able to defend yourself and to compete against others. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu(BJJ) is a personal journey. If you are a hobbyist or competitor, you will be treated with the best quality instruction. We welcome all people to train at Enforcers BJJ. We have kids classes, adult classes and competition classes. We would like to incorporate an all women’s class as well.

Kickboxing

Kickboxing is a full body workout that involves striking with fists, kicks, knees and elbows. It is probably the most effective standing Martial Art to learn. We do a lot of conditioning which includes push ups, sit ups/crunches, squats, etc…If you want to learn to fight or just workout, this class is a blast!

Mixed Martial Arts

Mixed Martial Arts or MMA was popularized by The UFC. It combines striking, wrestling/grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This is an intense class with sparring. We do not recommend this class unless you want to fight. Everyone is welcome to try it but the pace is very difficult to keep up with.
